You Need to Play Indie Brawler

Months ago, a game caught our attention during a sizzle reel at a gaming conference. The conference itself has long been forgotten, but the match was etched in our minds. prices Action is a brawler that takes characters from all your favorite indie games and pits them against each other in an all-out Action to the pass away.”This is not the first time we have seen or played a game like this, but Merge Games introduces many interesting features into the traditional brawler formula.

You may be wondering how all these characters ended up in the same world? It seems that a supernatural event created vortexes that removed each character from their respective game world and gave them special powers (apart from those they already possessed). Every wrestler is action for control of the universe, and because of this, everyone has a prices on their heads.

A New Twist on a Familiar Gameplay

With games like Super Smash Brothers, PlayStation All-stars and Brawlhalla, we are very familiar with this type of gameplay. prices Action adds a few elements to shake up traditional brawler action. The first thing you will notice while playing this game is that there is a literal prices on each character. As you defeat opponents and perform combos, you earn points for yourself, and the prices on your head increases. When you are defeated, your personal bank of points decreases. These points also decrease when you keep spamming the same move over and over again. This will force the player to add variety to his playing style if he wants to have an advantage in Action. Once you earn enough points, you can spend them to call a servant who will help you in Action. Each character has his own servant who acts independently and strikes the various opponents on the field. This minion leaves the field once your character is defeated.

As with any action game, there are a few different modes that a person can choose from. You have the standard local mode, the training room, a challenge mode and a tournament mode. Most of them are your standard fare. The tournament mode allows players to action through 5 different stages with various challenges. At the end of each stage, you are rewarded with a new skin/color variation for the character you are using. If you play alone, things can get old quickly, but the game uses Steam and its remote play feature. With it, you can play multiplayer with people on your friends’ list.

Overall, the action is solid. You mainly use two buttons as well as the directional buttons for the majority of your action. There are a lot of variations in play styles between different characters, so similar button combinations will look very different. I will say that some characters feel a little better than others when it comes to action and animations. There are clearly characters who have put a little more time and effort into their development, and you can tell. As players spend more time with this game, it can start to feel a bit repetitive. All characters are unlocked at the beginning of the game, so there is not much to pursue to extend the longevity of the game. Maybe if there are new characters on the road, this could be solved.

One of the most outstanding features of this game is definitely the art. There are a lot of characters in this game, and there are many different game worlds of them, but Dark Screen Games manages to make each one fit together perfectly. With the integration into a world, each character always feels authentic to what players would be used to when playing each game. The colors are vibrant and the animations seem fluid in most matters. I know there are people in the action game community who count the frames for each animation. I can’t confirm how solid this aspect of the game is, but prices Action feels really good playing with most of the characters I’ve used so far. There is a decent amount of variety in the design of each level of the game. Again, even if each character comes from a different game, none of them feels out of place on the boards. The art of the boards is not too crazy, which probably helps with this.

Conclusion

Even though I’m not the biggest action game player, I can say that prices Action is fun to play. The addition of the minion system makes this one of the most unique wrestlers I’ve played in a while. The prices system is something that other games could learn. It’s really cool to see all these indie game characters shine in a brawler. There is a lot of room for innovation with this game in the future. I can’t wait to see what kind of characters will be introduced in after updates. There are a few hiccups when you try out the different characters at your disposal. It does not seem that all characters have received the same attention when it comes to development, but some problems can be solved through patches. The team is actively working on making improvements to prices Action, so I would definitely keep an eye on the game. Despite some shortcomings, we recommend that you check out the game. It is available for on Switch, PS4 and Xbox One consoles and $19.99 on Steam.
